"The ATSF designation is a mark of distinction that recognizes the dedication, contributions, and accomplishments of our members to the fields of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. To me, it is a gathering of health care professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to advancing respiratory health through research, clinical care, advocacy, policy work, ethics, health equity, and social justice across the globe. It is a tremendous honor bestowed on me by the society I consider my professional home. Not only is it humbling, but it strengthens my resolve to make ATS the place to come for anyone who considers themselves a respiratory care professional."

- Meshell Johnson, MD, ATSF
