Fellows & Fellowships

This section of the ATS Website is dedicated to fellows, potential fellows and fellowship directors in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. Under the leadership of Mark Tonelli, we hope to develop a forum where these individuals can find and share information to improve Respiratory, Critical Care, and Sleep training.

For potential fellows, Mark advises on how to choose a fellowship program and describes the advantages of a Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine career. We list training programs and email contacts and websites of the programs in the United States and Canada. We also link to the National Resident Matching Program, the American Board of Internal Medicine and other useful sites.

For fellows, we tell about the benefits of membership in professional organizations, such as the ATS, and link them back to the membership part of our site. We link to Career Talk, a monthly column that is designed for fellows and junior faculty. We plan to have material written by fellows and educators that include tips for getting the most out of a fellowship and using the fellowship as a stepping stone to a successful career.

For fellowship directors, we plan to post material and tips to make the job of educating fellows and obtaining accreditation easier.
