Marc Moss, MD, is the Roger S. Mitchell Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the immediate-past-president of the American Thoracic Society.
For more than 14 years, Dr. Moss has received continuous NIH funding as a principal investigator, and his research has been published in high-impact journals. Before heading up critical care medicine in Colorado, he studied the effects of alcohol abuse on acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and performed other collaborative critical care research for 11 years at Emory University in Atlanta. In his current position at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, he and his colleagues have built a diverse research program that ranges from neuromuscular function and alcohol abuse and ARDS in critically ill patients to psychological distress among intensive care unit nurses.
